THE GIANT TRAVELING MAP HAS BEEN SUSPENDED

Why is this happening?
The Tennessee Geographic Alliance regrets to announce the immediate, temporary suspension of our Giant Map lending program. The success of this program relies on a shared commitment to the timely return of materials so that all educators across the state can benefit. Unfortunately, we have experienced frequent issues with maps not being returned on time or forwarded to the next user, in some cases, not being returned at all. Due to these missing and delayed resources, we can no longer maintain a reliable schedule for our participants.

Alternative Access via 4-H Partnership
While the TGA program is on hold, there is still a way for you to access a map! A few years ago, the TGA and 4-H partnered on a grant to distribute Tennessee Giant Map kits across the state.

How to request a map through 4-H:
Contact your local office: Reach out to your county’s 4-H agent to request access to their map kit. You can find your local office using this link: UT Extension County Offices.
  1. Provide Guidance: It is possible your local agent may not be aware of the map's location or the specific program.
  2. If your agent needs more information or help locating the kit, please ask them to contact their Extension Program Leader for assistance.
We appreciate your understanding as we work to resolve these logistical challenges. People that still want access to the Tennessee Giant Map PDF and Resources can access the links below.
