Middle School: Where to Begin?

The TGA suggests starting with a prepared lesson.  We have provided downloads to a Mapping A Zoo activity from Esri.  This lesson is a free geography instructional material for ArcGIS Online. No login or additional software required.  If your students enjoy this lesson, there are two additional Zoo Lessons:

• Touring a Zoo (Module 2/Lesson 2)
• Animals Around the World (Module2/Lesson 3)

Thinking Spatially Using GIS was developed to enhance spatial learning for students and provide teachers with comprehensive and easy-to-use resources for GIS instruction in the classroom. Updated teacher and student materials are available at no-cost to download and use in classroom instruction.
