Where to begin? STEAM at Work!

Picture
STEAM at Work! introduces young readers to exciting, fun STEAM careers and real possibilities for channeling their passions. Characters in each book use their curiosity and skills to solve environmental and social issues. Like these characters, readers will feel encouraged to make a positive difference in their community now and in their future careers. Especially Lindsey the GIS Professional Flip Book and Resources.

Additional resources, like teaching guides, fun interactive and at-home activities, and related lessons help create a comprehensive approach for learning.

Explore Google Earth!

Google Earth is essentially a digital magic carpet. For early elementary students, the world is often limited to their neighborhood; this tool allows them to visualize the literal connection between their front door and the rest of the planet through its iconic zoom feature, which builds foundational spatial reasoning. By toggling between 2D maps and 3D landscapes, kids can explore the peaks of the Himalayas or the penguins of Antarctica, making place-based learning possible without a single permission slip. It transforms passive observation into active discovery, sparking curiosity about different cultures and environments before they’ve even mastered their multiplication tables.
