Our funds come from an annuity that is managed by the East Tennessee Foundation (ETF); a public charity and nationally accredited community foundation created by and for the people of East Tennessee. Your donation to the Tennessee Geographic Alliance allows us to continue sponsoring the following:
  • Sponsoring the Geography Teacher of the Year Award
  • Tennessee Student Mapping Contest
  • Geography Mini Grants to Teachers
  • Tennessee Giant Map Program
With more funding, we can sponsor even more; such as:
  • Developing research based project with academic geographers and GIS professionals that provide class materials and impact student learning. 
  • Developing materials for students and teachers to use in nontraditional geographic settings like: Art, Music, Science, English and Language Arts, and Math
  • Giant World Map and Giant Inflatable Globe
  • Sponsoring Teachers to attend or present at State Conferences: Tennessee Council for the Social Studies, Tennessee STEM Innovation Summit, and Tennessee Geographic Information Council
  • Sponsoring Teachers to attend or present at National Conferences: National Council for Geographic Education, Geography 2050, and Esri Educational Summit
